Sent in a letter today against the behind-the-door editing of the Endangered Species Act through the Sierra Club. I have a weird...pseudo-membership kind of thing. (I get the newsletters). As before, I sent the standard message that they provided me with, because I don't feel particularly smart enough at the moment (my brain starts dying around this time of the year) to personalize the letter. They only give me one paragraph that I can personalize, anyways...
Once again, it was sent to my state county representative.
I always feel weird at this part.
I don't know much about state reps and other kind of politics because I don't read enough in the papers. Bad me, I know, not being a well-informed citizen and whatnot. However, I actually know something about the representative of California, Mike Honda. I've met him! He was stuck in a camp during WWII, just like a lot of people of Japanese descent. He was in the same one as my 8th grade science teacher. He likes playing with fire. These kinds of things, I know. But as far as politics go, and what his views are on education, the environment, and other laws that are passed, I have no frikkin clue.
Very awkward to send a letter to him like this.
