It was amazing how one simple sentence can open up your eyes. Even more unbelievable was that the sentence did not contain any new information. They all knew, deep within their heart and mind. It was just that they are so used to it, that they did not give much thought about it. After all, as has been stated in may shows that they or one of them have been in, their group has exceptionally close bonds compared to the others.
"Yamada is surprisingly submissive, isn't he?"
They laughed it out at first.
It just couldn't be. The boy was their center. The one who got the most attention from the media. Who are used to the spotlight, making his name known to the audience with most success out of them all.
Yet, the more they thought about it, the more they see it.
The more time passed, the more they have the proofs that it was indeed true.
And to be honest, it made the boy even more endearing to them. Because humans are complex, they have many sides. The signs are subtle, yet it was because they are subtle that it made a powerful impression. For it meant that it was done unconsciously, spontaneously. And the adjusted, like how they always did.

Nakajima Yuto found himself watching Ryosuke more closely than before lately. About how the boy carried himself, how he behaved on and off camera, with the group, senpais and juniors. And he could see it, really. What he was told about.
"Yama-chan, aahhh..."
Ryosuke glanced up at him and wordlessly lifted up his chopsticks, placing a freshly grilled meat in between Yuto's own lips. Biting the little bit of still slightly hot meat that was offered to him, he hummed slightly, thoroughly enjoying the explosion of flavour on his tongue. He had to admit, the older boy can cook. Though he had to give some credit to the staff for selecting such a good quality beef. He smiled at the inquisitive pair of dark brown eyes that were watching him closely under blond dyed bangs, blinking every other second.
"Very delicious," an enigmatic nod.
A wide smile was sent back to him, along with a pair of eyes that were twinkling cheerily.
Yuto only watch as the other members began to do the same as him, demanding that Ryosuke feed them as well. And to the surprise of no one, the boy complied each time. None of them bothered to lift their own chopsticks.

Okamoto Keito never thought much about this particular habit of his. It started when the two of them often went cafe hopping together, and unconsciously brought over to their other daily routine. Including during shooting.
Diverting his face to the two talking males, he put down the corncob that he was holding onto the wooden table. He walked closer. Peering over a pink jacket clad shoulder of Yama-chan, his eyes brightened at the sight of mouth watering melon that the younger held. A short glance at Dai-chan told him that the older was far from finishing his lecture.
His hand moved almost automatically, repeating the moves that it had done many times before.
He took the small fork from unresisting fingers, stealing a piece of melon. A content humming sound escaped from between his lips at the sweetness filling his mouth. Using his fingers to wrap Yama-chan's own around the fork, he walked away after giving a soft pat against the younger's back.

Inoo Kei had to admit that going through traumatic experience together would make people become closer. It happened to him after all. To him and Yamada, to be more precise. Before what he had to come the roller-coaster-from-hell incident, the two of them could barely find anything to talk about at all. And it showed, even during their performance. But now...
He opened his arms wide and had to hide a smile when Yamada once again willingly walked into his embrace, burrying his face into the hollow of his neck.
"You alright?"
A shake from the head that nestled against his collar bone and he tightened his hold. He shared a knowing glance with Chinen, before small laughs escaped the two of them. Both pair of eyes twinkling.
"Really, Yama-chan," for once, it was Chinen who was patting Yamada's head, "Frogs are really not that bad."
They shared another amused laugh when Yamada refused to deem them worthy of any other response other than an unintelligible grumble.

Yaotome Hikaru had more opportunity to scrutinize Yama-chan than the other members, except maybe Chinen. Being on one more programm together did that. And so he noticed this one thing, most likely along with the other casts. And kind of took advantage of it. Just a bit.
"Cut! Let's have a check first!"
He allowed himself to slump slightly on top of the white stage the moment the director said cut. Beside him, Yuto was in the process of lying down and Yama-chan was resting the side of his hip against the stage. Looking at the boy's face, it was obvious that the long hours of work has finally gotten to him. The usually smiling face was drawn, and his eyelids were halfway closed.
Wordlessly, he wrapped an arm around the boy's waist, pulling him onto the stage. The compliant body almost bonelessly followed his manhandling, just like every other time someone did the same.
His other hand found purchase on top of the mop of brown hair.
"Tired?"
Glazed eyes stared back at him, before a head was suddenly resting against his shoulder. Chuckling, he ran a hand through the dyed brown locks, "I'll take that as a yes."
k59: I'm back! I don't know how many of you still remember me, or know me at all. It's been years, after all. I've been flighty, I admit. There are other things that caught my attention, and only recently have I listen to HSJ again. I have to be honest though, the new Fullmetal Alchemist live action brought me back here. There's this thing about Yamada Ryosuke that draws me in, forcing my eyes to keep watching him. There's a side of him that is reliable, but also some that make him seem vulnerable. Not his reaction, but his body language. The little things that he did. Well, enough from me. Thank you for reading and visiting! Hopefully I'll see you all again soon.
P.S. All the snaps above are inspired / continuation from real scenes. Can you name them all?
Narimiya Hiroki's first impression of the boy named Yamada Ryosuke was perhaps the same as many others. How cute, come in front. But it was not long until he found out that this Hajime-chan was not simply a pretty face. His acting was good, and the boy was a pleasure to work with. And so it was not hard to admit that he looked forward to acting with him again when he was called back to reprise his role as the genius crime producer, Takato Yoichi.
Not to mention, the boy was so fun to tease.
"Please give me a break, Youichi-san," the slight whine in the boy's voice did not escape him.
Amused laughs rose around them as the boy once again pressed himself against the closest flat vertical surface, hiding his face from view. It made him smile how the casts were so into their role that they started to call each other by their characters' names. Wouldn't it be interesting if the two enemies started to call each other by their given names?
"Fine, Hajime-chan," he pulls Yamada-kun away from the unfortunate wall, chuckling when the boy immediately curled against him. "But you are going to do one more impression for me later."
