Picked up FFX again yesterday after some months of doing other stuff. I dropped it as I got stuck on the first (and hopefully only compulsory) Blitzball game and hence lost interest.
This time I decided I really didn't care so I'd just play it, lose and get on with the game. Started it up, couldn't remember how to play, couldn't even remember what buttons to press. Guess what? I won. Long live the "automatic" setting.
I've also been having fun with the
Python Challenge. I didn't know any Python when I started but hey, it's riddles and programming, what more could a geek ask? Personally, I think every programming language should come up with one of these as it actually makes it fun to learn (if you like twisting your brain into odd shapes).
Then, today, while
sakon76 is out at the RenFaire I decided to so something about wiring in the DVD player and surround sound units. To do this I decided to pull everything out and rewire it all. To do this I decided that the entertainment centre really needed a few more wiring holes in the back panel.
So, dremel tool in hand, I wrought destruction upon the surroundings. Actually, I'm pretty impressed by how it came out. Given the working position (moving the thing is, bluntly, not even worth thinking about), the new holes came out pretty smooth and in the right places.
The re-wiring went pretty well too. The back speakers aren't wired in yet, since I can't tell from the wire which is plus and which is minus and Bob isn't available to ask, but audio from the PS2, DVD player and radio tuner now comes through actual speakers rather than just the TV (the tuner was never hooked up). So now I'm listening to Jack FM...
All in all, not too bad :)
