And then there was new years
Oh, and Christmas :P the usual Christmas Eve dinner at my Aunt & Uncle's was usual. Bah Humbug Cocktails the next night were rather enjoyable and entertaining . . . I spent a whole heap of time shit-talking, and thrusting dirty electronic music into people's lives. I pulled up a little shabby afterwards (thanks for the lift home, Kupp), and dragged my arse to Heidelberg for other-side-of-family Christmas lunch. Recovery ensued afterwards . . .
Monday was Boxmas, a friend from work's annual birthday and not-Christmas celebration. I won a coconut for "best in show" (you may have seen my most recent fb picture), and provided base ingredients for a rather psychedelic punch concoction. After most everyone had left or passed out, we started watching season 1 of Red Dwarf, then Lachy's wheels fell off, and I caught the train home.
I had been very recently convinced to go to Lake Eppalock for DMF NYE after all (especially since all my other plans got cancelled on me), so the packing started, and ended with a lift from SteveDave. The almost-week away was enjoyable and relaxing. I only spent one night unsleeping (NYE), DJed a whole bunch, got hand cramps from NBA Jam, and generally spent a lot of time with awesome people. As far as I'm aware, there were only two enhancement hiccups, and no one complained that it wasn't good enough :P
Back to work has been slow. Also a mite unproductive. Whatever. Visited Ash/Jane/Kelly/SteveDave's house last night. Killer house :D Today I took my mixer back to the shop to get the master-out-right-channel-dropout-ness to be less droppy. Hopefully I'm not without it for too long. I still have my CDJs, so prototype mixing is possible . . . it just doesn't sound too awsesome because I don't have a soundcard (just onboard). There's also a two-part loli meet on this weekend . . . Selina and I dropped in today, then took everyone to Pancake Parlour. Smashing XD;
I've recorded one of my sets, but now without my mixer I can't do any more. I have, however, started piecing together a proper (blackhole) darkpsy set, and a chill set. When everything's finally recorded, I guess I've have about 8 or 9 sets, some which I've played live, and a few which are genre/subgenre showcases. I sure do like being organised :P
Haven't worked out how I'm getting to/from Rainbow yet, but I've had a few offers . . . best get on that!
