June 3rd, Rome, Palladine:
So basically this was one of the best days of my life. Woke up at 11:30am and puked twice. Went to the biggest flea market in Rome. Ate Gnocchi IN FRONT of THE COLLESSEUM! We took the collesseum tour and it was incredible. From there we went around ancient Rome and view Ruins, dipped my feet in the Duke's fountain. We saw the Spanish steps so we proceeded to buy beers and drink them at the top while 2 Italian guys w/ an acoustic guitar sang G 'n R in broken English. Easily the best part of the trip. Just relaxing, looking down a long, open alley with tons of ppl and a fountain in front of you. Then to a great restaurant for Spaghetti Carbonara, a new beer then to the town square for an orchestra concert and the best pizza yet and drinking Heinekens in the middle of the city. Came back to a PubTENT where we heard an Italian trio FLAWLESSLY cover American hits. Oh and 2 hot Italian girls stared long and hard at me.
I forgot, yesterday where we toured a castle whose roof had the best views of Rome and ended (kinda) at a restaurant where you sit and they bring your 7 courses which were:
Bread, tomatoes, lentles, mozarella balls, spaghetti, white wine, homemade potato chips, lamb, beans, some shots of fruit drink, and an amazing cream type pie.
Did I mention they were brought out by an old Italian woman in a white apron and white bandana on her head?? And while leaving she said, "Graci, Americanos!". Oh yeah and before that somehow we managed to pay 102 Euros on 3 rounds of 4 beers??!!
