Ugh... I'm fscking horrible at updating this thing... but I won't seem to let it die either. >.> Meh, anyhoo, tonight was a big night for me... I BEAT MAAT FIRST TRY! :O For those of you who don't play FFXI (yeah, I started playing again) when you hit level 50, you can't gain anymore levels until you've done this stupid quest for this guy named Maat. Every 5 levels after that you have to do another quest, until level 70. At level 70, you need to get a Testimony for your job (in my case it was a Red Mage Testimony), and then give it to Maat and fight him. This fight is the hardest thing imaginable... you're facing Maat, and he's the same job and level as you, and you have no subjob, and he has at least a fully leveled subjob, if not even more (my best guess placed his level 70 HP at least at 2000 HP, if not more O.O; which is over double of what I have as a 70RDM no sub). So using Saeki's strat posted on the SNLS forums, I was able to pull a win from what would have proably been a stunning defeat. Thankfully I'll never need to fight Maat again, unless I get some weird self-abusive desire to see what I can do again (more possible than I'd like to admit... esp. after I get some Meripo). It was kinda funny, after I beat him, my hands were shaking so badly I couldn't even type... I think I typed something along the lines of "afdkjaslkfjlaksfjljfdlkj :D:D:D:D:D:" and the part at the end confused people b/c they weren't sure if it was a bunch of :D or a bunch of D: in a row. XD None-the-less, this is a huge step for me, and means that nothing short of FFXI's servers being blown up and my character evaporating can hold me back from getting to level 75 (final level of the game) as a RDM. *glee*
In other news:
In the year 2006 I resolve to:
Fill my house with chocolate pudding.
Get your resolution here How cool is that? :O
Next thing, everyone should at least check out
http://www.pandora.com It this kinda weird site that you put in the names of some songs or bands you like and it will play new songs that are in the same genre as the songs you inputted (is that even a word? O.o), and even find new bands and songs that you would like. B/c if this program I've found what is easily one of the coolest songs ever: Home by Breaking Benjamin. It's a Nu-Metal telling of the Wizard of Oz. How awesome is that?
Finally, while I wanted to talk about Negima, I am running out of time (gotta go to work... blarg. DX ), I'll advise anyone who's reading this and likes Manga to go to your local anime/manga place and pick up Negima today... it's only around 11 bucks, and is a great read. Oh and warning ladies, there is a gratuitous amount of fanservice. And to make it worse, almost all of the pantie shots/conveniently covered nekkid bits are of girls in the 14-16 range... but if you can get just acknowledge that it's there and kinda look past it, the rest of the story is really great, IMO. And I'm totally pro-NegiNodoka pairing. *.*
I'll post more on Negima later. ;)
