So I'm back home after The End Of University Year Three, I guess.
I think I may be taking liberties by doing nothing for huge swathes of time when I could be doing better shit like a job or couch surfing across the UK or something. Things are happening slowly but surely, though.
Stewarding at Over the Rainbow was fairly un-noteworthy, save for the fact that I was having a discussion an arm's reach from most of Show of Hands at one point. Did rather want to go over and talk, but didn't have anything non clichéd to say due to not knowing much of their music too well, unfortunately.
Oh, Olly's blagging skills are also absurdly good. He must be stopped before the universe meets with disaster, or something.
This year's oddsocks has come and gone, shockingly enough without the accompaniment of incessant rain - it was a nice evening, and moreover there was an impressive turnout: Simon, John and me as usual, along with The Peon, Spencer, The Lizard, Jez, and Simon's other half Bryony.
As for the performers, I love the way they're such naturals for the stage. The one of them tripped over a prop and kicked out the 'INTERVAL' sign at one point, but the performance he gave whilst righting everything again flowed so well (and had such a groan-worthy pun: "Look! I can turn heads!", as he spins the statue's dismembered cranium around his arm) I couldn't even tell if it was intentional or not. Hallmark of a good actor and all, I guess.
Canoeing - tiring as ever. I shotgunned a place in one of the Canadian canoes this time with the intent to Take It Easy, but a slight mishap involving Tom's glasses, gravity, and the river meant that we were better off switching with me taking his kayak. Still, the time in the canoe was nice and relaxing with the odd occurrence of having to get out and push through the one-foot-deep water, and kayaks grant the opportunity to roam and also power past laggard canoe crews as well as being tiring, so all was good.
Currently dipping in and out of Tom's LAN for the week. It's awesome fun, but I'm also procrastinating things a fair bit too by going. Am looking forward to Amecon pretty damn much, but shit if I'm going to be able to knock up a full cosplay in the five days remaining.
At least I actually managed to fix a date for a job interview, albeit at least two days later than it should have been.
Oh, and I wrote this entry. That's further than I usually get.
