Ah. so many things to blog about. And stuff just comes up and I postpone it.
Maybe it's good to start with a movie I saw. I saw the movie Bangkok Dangerous in its opening week. It was the only movie that was available during the timeslot my friend and I had and we got discount. So I went in not expecting anything at all, and my expectations got even lower when I saw that it was only filled for about 10%. But at the end of the movie I thought: Wow, this was really a nice movie. Sure it was cliche as hell, and there were no special effects in the likes of the Matrix or HP, but still! I mean, it wasn't perfect, but it got a certain charm.
There were just the little things, the little details, in the movie that somehow simply moved me. And I was sad because of the ending, but I still loved it. So I really did not understand WHY it performed so poorly at the box office. Just for comparesome sake I also watched the original version of the movie and really disliked that one.
Some say that it was Cage's flat one dimentional acting that doomed the movie, some disliked the radical changes they made with the main character and others were simply frowning down on the predictability of the whole thing or the unconventional hollywood ending. But I say what's wrong with all that?
I look at Wanted, another film also about assassins, great action sequences, big names, multiple plot twists and a typical hollywood ending. And I absolutely refuse to see the movie. It's not that I have something personal against the movie. And one may call me silly, but I think it's unfair that a great movie is dying a slow death while the more high- tech flick is generating some major bucks. The true upside of this little tale is that the movie will probably hit dvd form soon. And when it does I will at least tackle my near surroundings for a second view....or third......or fourth....
And since nanowrimo is coming again, but I don't think I have time to do it. Im gonna try to write my story this month instead. Wish me luck.
