I just can't wait to be king~
Okay, so I went to catch the Lion King Musical yesterday. The award-winning Broadway musical has finally made its way to Singapore, making it its first stop of their Southeast Asia tour.
"The cast for the Singapore production will be comprised of the cream of Lion King performers from around the world, including veterans of the acclaimed London and Paris productions. The cast of 49 hails from 8 countries and 5 continents including South Africa, in keeping with the show’s spirit of authenticity."

The musical started during March, and yesterday, I finally got my chance to go catch it. I've seen banners advertising about the musical since last year and whenever I see one of those banners, I thought to myself that I definitely have to go catch it, so it was like a dream come true for me.^^
Everything was really fantastic: the singing, the acting, and the costumes.
We got the $125 tickets, and to my surprise, the theatre was really small. It's about the size of a lecture hall, I would say.XD So we weren't that far away from the stage, as I thought we would be. However, this meant that the stage was rather small as well. During the first scene, it was suppose to be a majestic scene of all the animals gathering to celebrate the birth of the lion prince, however, the stage seems overcrowded when all the animals were gathered on it.
Despite that, the overall experience of the musical was a really awesome one. As Rafiki (Gugwana Dlamni) started singing the opening song "Circle of Life" , the familiar lyrics and melody actually made me cried.XD Her singing brought goosebumps (good ones) and at that moment, I felt that that was already worth the wait before.
I also love the local jokes they've inserted within the musical. Like Timon, he actually spoke a couple of Chinese phrases and added Singlish to some of his lines.XD And Zazu said that he saw the Merlion.XD
And I got the soundtrack after the musical ended from the store. I'm thinking about getting the T-shirt though? I kind of want to get the "I'm surrounded by idiots" one.XD
