I think Mulholland Dr. broke my brain. And not in a good way.
Naomi Watts was pretty good, but the dreams and the hallucinations and the different realities and the surrealism and WHOA MY GOD.
My mom dozed off in the middle of it:
Mom: *wakes up and watches about 10 minutes*
Mom: ...I don't get it. Did I miss something?
Me: I was awake and I don't get it either.

Nodame Cantabile Spring Special
Jan 4 & 5
Cannot wait for more classical music hijinks! In Europe! And of course Tamaki Hiroshi. :D
Speaking of Tamaki, DramaWiki tells me that he's going to play Nobunaga in
Teki wa Honnoji ni Ari--with a mustache!--and he's going to be in next year's taiga drama
Atsu-hime as...wait for it...Sakamoto Ryoma.
RYOMA! TAMAKI as Ryoma!! I don't know whether to laugh or cry! But I still love you, Tamaki Hiroshi. T_Tb
And getting further sidetracked, they are really pulling in some of the younger actors for Atsu-hime: Miyazaki Aoi, Horikita Maki, Matsuda Shota, and Eita, from glancing down the list. I think this is the first jidaigeki for all of them. Hmmmm, I don't normally go for bakumatsu unless the story is mainly about the people who were in the midst of the action, not the people who were only deliberating on the action, but I may have to take a look at next year's taiga just to see how well the youngsters turn out in jidaigeki duds. Yes, I am shallow like that. :3
EDIT: OH DEAR GOD, they're including
John Manjiro in this one! My interest in this taiga has just increased tenfold; I want to hear
Katsuji Ryo speak English!
