It has been 11 long years since Australians last pointed their middle
fingers heavenwards and declared: F&*K you, I won't do what you tell me!

The drought will break and the rebellion will rise again this January
with the long-awaited return of Los Angeles, California's RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE in their exclusive first performances outside the United
States.

The re-formed RAGE - vocalist Zack de la Rocha, guitarist Tom Morello,
drummer Brad Wilk and bassist Tim Commerford - will set the Australian
summer ablaze with two very special shows in Sydney and Melbourne.

Wildly inventive, unashamedly political and socially active like few
others, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE spent the 1990s causing waves from the stages of the Big Day Out to the offices of the White House. Three
albums - 1992's self-titled debut, 1996's Evil Empire, and 1999's
Battle of Los Angeles - raised the ire of conservatives in the days
when 'parental advisory' stickers were still a novelty, and at the
same time opened rock fans minds to a genre-busting blend of metal,
punk, hip hop and funk (inspirations the band explored on 2000's
covers album Renegades), and shining light on issues ranging from
indigenous rights to mass-media brainwashing.

But RAGE split in 2000 - de la Rocha signaling his intention to make a
solo album; Morello, Wilk and Commerford going on to form Audioslave.
However, a voice as unique and powerful as RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE
couldn't stay silenced forever - some might even say the world needs
them right now. And so it was that, in early 2007, RAGE reignited the
righteous spark for a precious few music festival appearances, starting
with California's Coachella in April.

Its a coincidence that in the seven years that Rage Against the
Machine has been away that America has slid into right-wing purgatory?
I think not, Tom Morello told MTV on the eve of the reunion. It
occurred to all of us that the times were right to see if we can knock
the Bush administration out in one fell swoop, and we hope to do that
job well. There is no action without reaction. And we're part of that reaction.

Reaction to RAGE's comeback was just as strong. Sydney's Daily
Telegraph witnessed the Coachella comeback - in a word,
'impassioned'. 'De la Rocha's snapping vocals were as passionate and
crisp and ever,' raved MTV, while Billboard noted that the bands
early, unified force was back in full effect: Guitarist Tom Morello
was in particularly blazing form on Know Your Enemy, and the band
grooved in lockstep throughout, as if no time had passed since it was
last active.

Take a look at the setlist: Bullet in the Head. Bulls on Parade.
Renegades of Funk. Sleep Now in the Fire. Guerrilla Radio. Calm Like a
Bomb. Freedom and, of course, the explosive, set-closing release of
Killing in the Name. Songs of rare power from a once-in-a-generation
band.

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE return to Australia this January - still
impassioned, still important, and determined once more to take the
power back. Join the movement here. And a note to the RAGE faithful in
all other corners of Australasia. Never fear! Additional RAGE AGAINST
THE MACHINE appearances in Auckland, Queensland, Adelaide and Perth are scheduled and will be announced shortly.

omg!, omg, rage against the machine, excitement plus!!!!!
