*squishes you all in a hug*

(this post was started earlier this week but the connection wouldn't let me post)

I'm alive. Dogs are alive. I woke up this morning to rescuers saying I had no choice but to evacuate because another dam had broke. I said I couldn't go because of the dogs and they called the animal control (freaking me the hell out) but I was informed that they were taking in all the animals for the evacuees.

Last night was hell because the water just kept rising in the house. We've pretty much lost everything. (beds, most of our clothing and keepsakes. all of my books! *weeps*) There's a possibility that we can salvage the fridge and washer/dryer since they weren't running when the water hit them.

All of the dogs were scared of the water but poor Molly was just frelling terrified of it. She slept in a recliner on K's bed and at one point jumped down because something startled her and jumped into bed with me and the other dogs (knocking Taz into the water!) After I got her re-settled back on the recliner, I wrapped the Tribble with Teeth up in a blanket and put him on the sofa that was perched on top of the gas stove in the living room. Yoda, Minnie, Fluffy and Rudolf kept me warm during the night since I only had a couple towels and a wool sweater as a blanket and I was freezing my ass off from going in and out of the water again.

The town is going to be shutting off water to everyone if the water continues to rise higher.

I'm trying to update you all from S' boyfriend's parents place. They were nice enough to let me come over and take a shower. I'll be staying at the Red Cross shelter over at the community center with other evacuees. I've got my camera chord finally and the pictures uploaded to this little laptop of nathan's. My power chord for my laptop fell in the water and I'm hoping it'll dry out and be usable. (also lost my cellphone last night while we were fighting the water.) Once I get a more stable place to do a full update I will.

**and now with the rest of the post - May 2nd**

This has been a tiring and emotionally exhausting week (understatement of the year) but I'm still at the shelter. Mom and the kids are staying with various friends. Mom comes over to have meals with me and let me know the latest on what's going on. Miracoiously she found a place for us to stay in town, with the landlord willing to knock off the deposit in exchange for us painting the walls and re-tiling the kitchen.

Molly, Rudolf and Fluffy are still at Angel Rescue (Pitbull rescue) and Yoda, Minnie and Taz are still at the pound. We'll at least get to keep the smaller dogs and Molly but I think we'll have to find homes for the pups. Though I think I have found a potential home for them (little girl lost her German Shephard pups and horse during the flooding). If we can't keep them, I want to make sure that they go to a good family.

Here's some photos of the damage to our house and around town (we lost walmart and the local grocery store for a few days there) but you can also see the rest here

I just want to thank you all for the well wishes, you've really brought me a bright spot during all of this. *hugs you all tight*

One last thing, if you have some spare change or whatever, please donate to the Red Cross helping folks hit by the tornados and flooding because these people (as you know) are busting their asses off to help people in the same situation me and my family is in. Okay, my time is up here and I've got to split. Hopefully, I can check back in a few days.
