Note: Please read this while listening to this
song. The song is called 'When the love falls' by Yiruma.
The first notes are delicate and the rhythm is timid, building the pace like the clouds on the sky gather to become a solid cumulonimbus, long fingers caress the keys more like they are just following the rhythm than remembering the steps. The notes start flowing together, fastening the pace, growing stronger and with a thunder he gives his entire soul to it, to the piano, to the music, to the rain the echoes through his ears.
Soft. Sad. Lonely. Enveloping everything in its refreshing coldness.
Every key is like a small drop of water hitting the ground, the sound comes and goes naturally and he closes his eyes, smelling the earthy scent and knowing exactly how the sky looked, knowing the velocity of the wind and the temperature of the water.
He opens his eyes, because here comes the lightning and as clear as day he can see Sebastian standing alone, like a flash of light, near his glass doors. The Uruguayan was a mix of gold and white, he was beautiful. Behind him Luciano’s garden could be seen through the glass, creating the illusion that they would walk right into the most sacred forest dared they go out in the middle of this storm.
The wooden floor was solid under his naked feet and like that, in the middle of the green, brown, grey and yellow, he felt like he was in the middle of the storm. It was almost like his living room was made exactly to give that impression.
His fingers didn’t stop, he couldn’t stop because the rain was still falling.
- Why do you play such a sad song? - Asked Sebastian and ‘Ah, here comes the thunder.’ Luciano thought somehow playing according to his soft voice. After the lightning you could count seven seconds before you could hear the thunder and it’ll come in waves, breaking the silence and cutting through everything.
- I’m playing for the rain, because I want to give it a present. - Breath. Continue. Breath. It’s falling all around him.
- This doesn’t sound like you. - The fair-haired nation walked towards him and put his hands on his shoulders while looking at the garden.
- I don’t think it’s a sad song. It’s about love, it’s about dying and giving birth to something new. You’ll never see this rain again, but at the same time, it’ll never disappear, everything around us breath alive thanks to it. I’m just playing the same song that you can hear outside.
Sebastian stands behind him, his hands are warm but even so, Luciano wouldn’t touch them to steal their warmth.
- Seeing the rain falling like that is like watching it die. - Murmured Sebastian and for some reason he didn’t feel silly talking like that, he knew that Luciano would never make fun of him because of that. Because to a person like Luciano, everything that he could see and everything that he could touch made him alive.
- I like to think that if the rain wasn’t falling, it wouldn’t be what it is and it wouldn’t be alive. We live because we’re going to die someday and life is a precious gift from God. - Luciano smiled while the song became sad, nearing its final seconds. - This moment will never happen again, but because I’m able to share it with you, I thank God.
Sebastian caressed his shoulders, he didn’t want it to end, but he understood that the reason why this was so precious was because it wouldn’t last forever. So he kissed Luciano’s head and thanked him for being together in this moment and he wondered if the Brazilian felt like this everyday.
The song came to an end without Sebastian noticing, he could still hear the sound and feel Luciano playing it, but the only thing he could hear was the rain falling and the only thing he could feel was the cold wind coming from an open window.
If Sebastian was like the lightning to Luciano, the blond imagined him as the earth, solid and welcoming everything with open arms like it was a present.
The rain didn’t last long but they stayed together during all afternoon and more than once did Sebastian and Luciano thank for that.
NA: Ah, something simple because I couldn’t stop listening to ‘When the love falls’ by Yiruma. Somehow, I listened to it so many times while writing this that I caught myself looking at the sky to see if it was raining. Ah, I think I don’t know how to write a solid story anymore. Oh well... have a drabble.
I just know that I lost 30 points because the grammar and the structure sucks. Forgive the Engrish. Sorry about that and thank you for reading. This is dedicated to
