I am SOOOOO excited to see how well Kappa did in recruitment! And I am stoked about Jen! A forewarning ladies - I am planning on being in town for initiation. Now please don't move the date around on me...;) Can't afford to buy two roundtrip bus tickets in one month. In that situation, we may have to beg Mark to be my personal chauffer for the weekend (something I hate doing).
Weekend was blissful and different. Friday I was so glad to hit - teaching was wonderful this week, but I am worn out. Friday night's girls basketball games went well, both jv and varsity won. Of course, Saturday varsity fell apart, but that's another story...Mark was supposed to be there for the games, but he had car trouble outside of Oshkosh. The accelrator wouldn't stop, so Mark was getting up to 70-80 mph when he didn't want to. Now that's scary! A service stop and an hour later he was back on the road. I treated him to a long back rub when he got in - he'd had a bad day even before car trouble.
Saturday I corrected papers in front of figure skating nationals held in PORTLAND, OREGON! If I'd been home, Mom would have bought me tickets for Christmas, but alas, I teach away... My city looked gorgeous on camera. :) And Kimmie Meisner landed the first triple axel by an American women in competition since 1991! (Tonya Harding, who by the way is from Portland area and I used to watch practice at the mall rink. Of course, it was considered cool to cheer for her then...)
Sunday I opened by birthday gifts from Mark and we went to the bookstore. I cooked dinner - Norwegian meatballs, hasselback potatoes and a rice dish. Spent the evening writing the semster exams for my students, which I will now sign off to finish.
