So...
Tuesday I went to class and work as usual. I went and ate with Zach, Joe, Tom, and Ross, and then went to try to take a nap. Doug and Linda came and picked up my bike for me, and I tried going back to sleep. Suzy called me around 8 or so, and I decided to deem napping impossible and went and sat in Zach's room. We played some Halo before I left...I just couldn't resist. I went and picked up Steve and we were on our way around 10. The ride home was pretty uneventful. We sang a lot. That was about it. I got to my house at 4 a.m., and I still had to drive Steve to Ishpeming. I sat there for a while and got back here at 5:15.
I got up today around 12:30, showered, stopped at my grandma's, and headed up to the hospital. Everything that I've heard from everyone about how my aunty Debbie is really didn't prepare me for when I actually saw her today. I knew she was on life support and that, but I guess I just really never took in the magnitude of the situation. There was just tubes everywhere. She's got an NG tube for feeding, the actual ventilator, suction tubes, and this big unit in her neck for getting blood and various other things. It was so weird. They have her completely sedated so she can't rip out all of the tubes. I guess two days ago she woke up and was really agitated and was trying to rip all of the tubes out. I don't blame her; I wouldn't want shit in my nose and mouth either. I was really hoping that she'd wake up while I was there. I wanted to talk to her. If I am ambitious later on, I'm going to go back for a while. I'll be there tomorrow, too. Thanksgiving is going to be pretty helter skelter. We're going to eat in "shifts" so that there'll be people at the hospital the entire time. I'm going to make some pies when I'm done with this entry. I want to help out with whatever I can, since it's been pretty crazy. My uncle David and aunty Diana are up from Ohio. When I found out they were coming, I was like wow... it must be bad. I guess my aunty Donna mentioned to the doctor that they have a brother that lives in Ohio, and she asked if she should call him to come, and the doctor was like "yeah..." They thought she might die, which is insane. I never realized it was that bad. She basically had the flu on Saturday, and then she couldn't breathe, so my mom brought her to the ER, and they kept her. She's got bad pneumonia, and it infected her blood. It's just been a crazy day. I really wasn't prepared to see her like that. I just saw her not even two weeks ago when I was home and she was the same old 20 Questions Debbie. My mom has been taking it really hard. She was telling me that they've had that twin thing going on. I guess my aunt had a ton of fluid in her lungs, and she had to cough it up, and she just couldn't. My mom was praying really hard for her to cough it up, and my mom fell asleep and then woke up and ran in her room, and the nurse told my mom that my aunt had had a coughing fit for 15 minutes and coughed it all up, right around the time my mom said that. My mom also woke up from a dead sleep because she felt like something was wrong, and she ran into my aunty's room and there was about 10 hospital staff in there because her blood pressure had dropped so low. She was almost dead.
I don't really want to think about this anymore right now. I'd definitely appreciate some phone calls this week(end) though.
Also, I just want to let ALL of my friends know.... I love you ALL. If anything were to ever happen to me, I'd want you to know that.
