on friday me and some of the boys
took the train to milan to go see the hives show. we brought 55-cent-boxes of table wine
and snuck them into the venue
(which wasn't a very hard thing to do). the venue was this place called c-side
and it was actually pretty cool and smaller than i had imagined.
i'm not familiar with all of their music or anything, but the italians were way into it and i just jumped up and down with them the entire time.

we all got split up from each other as soon as it started because of getting thrown around and whatnot. i left that night being the sweatiest i've ever been in my life
and with bruises all over my body. adam apparently had dropped his glasses and broke them during the set and we found it pretty funny.
and these are some scary boys that were walking down the street next to us.

we managed to find a mexican restaurant open late (the first one i've seen in italy)!!! i don't 'think we even cared whether the food was good or not; i think mexican food is what everyone in the program misses the most! our food looked like this
and i was excited about my vegetarian burrito.

so we didn't book a hotel room or anything because some people didn't find it worth shelling out the money for. the plan was to wander around the streets of milan until the first train ride back to siena which was at 5:30am. so after walking around the empty streets of milan at night

and seeing the duomo

(which is the most amazing duomo i've seen thus far) and sitting there for who knows how long
without anything to do because we were dead tired, we ended up going back to the train station around 3am, laying down newspapers on the ground like all the other bums around us
and resting.
total bum status.

worst train ride ever back to siena, but we got back at noon on saturday and i slept til 6pm. that night the boys had a pre-halloween party at their dorm since we're all going to be gone on actual halloween day due to the 5-day weekend. i was going to put on a cute dress and be myself for the party, but anteo, the italian guy who lives on the floor upstairs, insisted that i put on his jacket and be a stripper. and after much persuasion from everybody else who was dressing up, i gave in.
(i'm wearing a bathing suit underneath, don't worry, i haven't become a whore.) the most embarrassing part was having to walk across the busy streets that evening in all our costumes to get to the boys dorm. but we survived without having too many dirty italians pestering us.
i don't think we had much to work with as far as costumes go, but some were creative. um.. like lloyd christmas from dumb and dumber! best idea ever!

me and my boyfriend for the night.
and someone's mom sent them halloween candy!
and then we got complaints from people living upstairs so it didn't last very long. but we went out afterwards and i like doing this peace sign a lot.

sunday we went to euro chocolate fest 2004 in perugia (about 2 hours away). it was the last day and i saw some people turn into savages over chocolate, it was intense. huge crowds
, a lady that was selling spicy chocolate with a huge mole on her face,
free chocolate,
chocolate sculptures,
face paintings

and the best damn chocolate i've ever had in my life.

5-day weekend starts in 2 days. next on the agenda: switzerland and munich.
