Forthcoming will be some of the recipes I"ve been trying lately, but I"m uniquely proud of today's success...
I have been trying to make one New Recipe dinner each week. Nothing that takes more than an hour to prep, up to a total of an hour and half including cooking. This is because I know I"m not going to spend more than that on a work night. But last night I made my first Chocolate Cake. It truely deserves the capital letters...it's REALLY chocolately. This morning I added a Chocolate glaze that made it look as pretty as a bakery window cake. It was made for a friend's birthday, who I was told was a Death By Chocolatle kind of person. I'm generally a vanilla, maybe chocolate ON my vanilla person, so this was a big departure. I definitely needed milk, vanilla icecream or a lot of whipped cream for me, but it really was stunningly good!
Okay...apparently I do need to own a cake stand.
Shhh...I know I have just about every other standard kitchen gadget, and several of the non-standard variety, but I don't own a cake stand. *grin* Finally...something to put on the "gift list" for my mother-in-law!
I'll post the recipe when the Pinot Noir wears off. Night!
