Unoriginality

"I am a cliche"
So plainly stated
By the under-acknowledged
Yet fantastic punk band
X-Ray Spex
I am a cliche
In all I do
It's plain to see
You are a cliche
Everybody who still
Fantasizes about
"Anarchy in the UK"
Is a cliche
Especially those here
In the terrible US of A
Or as many call it
"The land of hypocrisy"
"Anarchy in the UK"
The idea originating
With Johnny Rotten,
Sid Vicious
And all the other
Under-acknowledged members
Of the late 70's punk band
Sex Pistols
Face it, they're gone
Anarchy would destroy
Us, you, the entirety of
The human race
"Anarchists" today
Are mere
Hypocrites
Supporting the government
Putting money in
Their pockets
Just to be cool
Be cliche and
Buy an
Anarchy logo
Anarchy is for
The individual
Which no longer
Exists
Punk as it was
As it always
Should have been
Is dead
Conformity has
Stolen all hope
For the individual
You are a cliche
None of us are able
To have Billy Idols
"White Wedding"
Impurity stains
Our streets
Corrupts our homes
Impurity is everywhere
It is cliche
America, free?
My ass
If it were what
It says it is or
What everyone
Believes then
"Going Homo"
Would be accepted
Not only as a song
By the Dickies
But merely accepted
By the nation
Embraced not
Discriminated against
They would not be
Knocked down,
Secluded, criticized
We could treat
Humans like humans
People are people
No matter what
Their race, gender
Age, body, or
Sexual preference
May be
No more
Racial slurs
No more
Demeaning shouts of
Fag, dyke, queer, lesbo
Being called at a
Passing pedestrian
On the streets
No more
Looks of disgust or
Discrimination
It is cliche
We are all cliche
I am a cliche
