Back from CA and Vegas

I've been meaning to update my lj more often but for some reason, there's always some mental force in my mind that blocks me from doing this. In fact my brain is telling me, right now, to write this up tomorrow and go to sleep. I already know what's going to happen if I do that. We all already know. So, for now, I'll just divide my vacation post into 2-3 different posts. First post is obviously going to be about AX.

Well actually, I should say how I planned this trip out first. It all started one day in the month of late April or early May when my mom called me in the middle of work. She asked me if I could take some leave during the 4th of July week. I said "yeah sure, I think I can make it work". Of course I won't know for sure if my leave will get approved until a week or even a day prior to when I'm suppose to take leave because that's just how the military works. Oh and by the way, if you ever call me and I don't pick up, then it just means I'm busy at the moment. Either that or I'm in a formation/meeting and I have the phone on silence. Yeah, having the phone go off right as the commander yells the formation to attention IS NOT A VERY GOOD THING as many soldiers found out. So anyways, I find out that my family wants to be in Vegas on a Monday and it just so happens that AX is happening right before that Monday. Now normally I would never attend a con alone but it just so happens that a couple of friends are coming. And that's what happened. My leave gets approved and off to AX I go. God I want to stop writing but I gotta endure! ENDURE!

So, the day of my leave finally arrives and I land in LAX at noon. From there, I met up with Pedro, Jack, and Kevin. I also met some ultra cool cats, Lisa and Yan (well, to be fair, Yan did his own thing 95% of the time so whatever). I have to say, despite what seems to be the overall dissatisfaction con attendees had at the convention, I had a lot of fun. Dim sum, Arcade Infinity, ramen, Johnny, shopping, In and Out, gunflames, mega64, and et cetera. Don't know if I'll go to the next con (LA Convention Center, yeah great fucking plan AX) since you know, I've already been deployed to a war zone in the last 6 months and I don't feel like going into another hot spot so soon. But we'll see what happens. Thanks for the fun guys. Here's a shout out to my homies in the mysterious world of anime: Kevin, Pedro, Jack, Lisa, Yan, Bob, David, Pajamas, Dre, Billy, Fred Gallagher. Oh and Josh too (apparently he was at AX but I never saw him so oh well).

And that's it for my AX post. Yeah, I know there's a ton of grammatical errors in there but I'm trying, man, I'm trying. Wait, actually scratch that. I'm not even trying anymore. Anyways, please look forward to the rest of my CA/Vegas trip report that I won't be writing ever in the near future.
