Hi, I work outside the home....
I'm really getting SICK of the lack of role models and admittal of women who work outside the home when it comes to written stuff.
Find me a comic strip which has 1) a baby (younger than school) 2) a woman who works outside the home ALL DAY. No writing for the paper, no brief bursts at the library, none of that crap. 3) Who doesn't have a nice convenient mother/neighbor to take the kids. I'm serious--I want to find my life in a day-to-day comic strip and I can't.
Oh, and the advice and books for working with baby all seems to have an underlying assumption I'm home all day. I can do all sorts of crap overnight or all day long because it's not like I have to haul myself off to work in the morning or he's at daycare during the day. No, no. I guess only mothers who sit at home have time to write books.
Grrr. Women who work full time are not uncommon. I'd also guess we're also less likely to have support groups (time constraints) and thus turn to blogs and books, so please reflect our reality.
