Three Days of Fame, this is embarassing...
I graduated college last Saturday and thanks to a random "thank you" from my biology teacher, that he made while accepting his "staff member of the term" award, I also got a full page article complete with picture in the Local/Regional section of the Valley News.
In the last seventy-two hours I've been hugged more times than I have in the rest of my entire young life. People asked for me to wait on them at work yesterday and all my regulars gave me copies of the paper. Today, when dad went into Papa Z's to get a coffee, six old guys at the counter stood up and applauded. I'm serious, they applauded!
I suddenly find myself a hometown hero, just cause I helped a nutty professor with his cancer research. People keep asking me when I'm heading out to Disney and I'm like "Give me time, I gotta save up some cash first."
A lot of them gave me money and insisted I keep it just so they could say they helped.
This is fun but also kinda embarrassing. Can hardly wait till this dies off. ^_^;
My folks are sending out copies of the paper to our relatives and my friends so don't be surprised if you get one in the mail pretty soon.
