Stolen from
jovianconsensus, a little something to keep me busy....
1. Can you cook?
Yes.
2. What is your signature main dish?
Either spaghetti carbonara or enchiladas. The carbonara is basically lifted directly from The New Best Recipe, while the enchiladas are actually cobbled together from a couple of different sources.
3. What is the largest group of people you have cooked for?
Not counting parties, probably 8.
4. Organic or regular groceries?
Regular.
5. Do buy you food through a CSA or at a Farmers Market?
Nope. High-quality produce is lost on me.
6. Are you allergic to any foods?
Used to be allergic to dairy as a baby, that went away as I got older. If heredity is any indication, it will be back with a vengeance.
7. What is your comfort food?
Wings.
9. What is the most exotic food item you have eaten?
Used to have bison (usually in burger form) back in upstate New York when our family was friends with a couple who ranched bison.
10. Do you have a unforgettable memory of a dining experience?
The first time I went to Fogo de Chao was pretty damn memorable. I mean, what a salad bar.....
11. Do you collect Cookbooks?
I wouldn't call it a collection, because I'm pretty utilitarian about it. The New Best Recipe serves me well.
12. Are you good at Baking?
I have been banned from baking for about two years now, if that provides any indication. Exceptions made for certain well-honed recipes that I can't screw up.
13. What is the best item you bake?
Grand Slam cookies.
14. Do you drink alcohol?
Do I!
15. Your favorite drink?
For beer, Goose Island Celebration Ale, because it's brewed for the day of my birth. For spirits, the trusty vodka gimlet. Not enough of a wine guy to have an opinion.
16. Name your favorite Dessert.
Brownie sundae.
17. What is your favorite Snack food?
Sausage balls.
18. Would you share food off your plate at a Restaurant?
Sure.
19. Do you think breakfast food is just for breakfast?
Not necessarily, but I generally have it in the mornings.
