On Friday, I zipped around some garage sales looking for Egyptian stuff to use as God Auction props (and later decor in le house). And lo! I found stuff. Amongst the stuff I found was this awesome giant wicker urn that happened to be painted the most hideous shade of powder blue imaginable. So I repainted it. And apparently, I have previously untapped talent. Go me!
So here are some pictures of my masterpiece.
It has a giant ankh!
I wasn't sure at first whether painting with the wicker pattern would work or not. I was afraid the ankh would wind up looking ridiculous, or just not like an ankh at all. But it worked, and all is well. Woot.
A close-up of the lotus motif:
Yes, it is a pain in the patoot to paint patterns on wicker. I do not plan to do it again.
