I had planned to write an epic story about the Asian adamantium-ed lady from X2. SURPRISE, THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN. I did write a snippet, though:
PG for biology, 186 words, X-Men fic
The dam breaks and detritus flows all over.
Yuriko stays in the tank, heavy at the bottom, until that breaks, too and she is flushed downstream, clunking along the way. Bits of skin and bone and clothing are sheared off but the adamantium is still there: the elegantly carved blades implanted in her skeleton, all facets and purpose; the fine, squiggly network of blood vessels cast in adamantium; the cracks and caverns in bone; a wafer-thin sheath slipped between membranes; a bulbous rod folded and curled upon itself, like a melted string of pearls, where her intestines were. Her stomach bulges with adamantium, pockets of acid and half-digested food trapped forever inside.
She catches on a log and lays there, too deep for sunlight to do much more than nod at her in passing. In just a few days, the skin upon her brow is nibbled away by crabs and the implant shines beneath, like the crown of some beloved queen. The skin always grows back. The crabs eat and eat and eat and never run out of flesh. It’s the greatest generosity she’s ever shown.
