kayliemalinza: OH MAN btw I wanna write a Watson-first-person POV where he’s turned into a cat, yet has absolute faith that his dear and brilliant friend will discover the plot.
possibly_thrice: you should do it
kayliemalinza: yeah so the largest part of the fic will be taken up by Watson napping in Holmes’ lap while Holmes smokes half a bag of shag
possibly_thrice: /snort
kayliemalinza: cogitating
kayliemalinza: and unconsciously skritching
kayliemalinza: and Gladstone is like
kayliemalinza: too lazy
kayliemalinza: to do more than sort of whuff at Watson
kayliemalinza: oh and Holmes spends a lot of time ~describing the cat
kayliemalinza: which is disconcerting because Watson barely knows what he looks like
possibly_thrice: what DOES he look like
kayliemalinza: buff (tan), well-fed but not too much so, assiduously yet inexpertly groomed, with a particular curl to his tail which betrays some aspect of character
kayliemalinza: One ear has a thinner tuft of fine fur than the other, indicating that there has been some unequal attention given to that side of the head, prehaps the result of compulsively rubbing one’s chin and whiskers against innocent doorways
kayliemalinza: which is, of course, an impudent habit for a cat to get into
possibly_thrice: awwwwwwwwwwwww
kayliemalinza: And Watson is so embarrassed
kayliemalinza: he had no idea he had been taking such liberties with doorways
possibly_thrice: hahahahahahaha
possibly_thrice: in his
possibly_thrice: cat
possibly_thrice: life
kayliemalinza: yeah
kayliemalinza: he’s been a cat for three hours and has already set a paw upon the immoral path of lassitude
possibly_thrice: whither his military demeanor
kayliemalinza: clearly cats are constitutionally incapable of industry
kayliemalinza: he should like to be returned to his god-given manhood as soon as possible
kayliemalinza: particularly as Holmes’ own character defects and untoward behaviors seem to have been encouraged by Watson’s catly shortcomings
