you're not rid of me quite yet, internet

I have been missing the past few weeks because 1) I got a new hobby and 2) I have fallen back into Doctor Who with a weepy-eyed and squeeful vengence (anyone who has seen Ten's final episodes will understand that combination completely, I think.) Le Moff has been as wonderful as I expected him to be. I want to send him a fruit basket. Or a book. A ( Read more... )

I get the sense that this crowded fandom crisis situation and its plangent rhetorical query have come up before.

It's just that my hideously complicated backstory for PotC was so marvelous and I couldn't toss it out just because I'd been charmed by aliens and time travel and things, could I? And the basic premise of an immortal time traveler makes things so easy....

The really weird thing is that I'd done so much filing-off of serial numbers that my hideously complicated Torchwood backstory doesn't fit in the DW/TW canon-verse anymore, and trying to align them again makes me go squinty-face.

My main method of solving this is to invent more OFCs. :)

(I still haven't worked in my hideously complicated HP backstory, though, which makes me very sad. I'll have to work on that. I think we can let the Dragonball Z backstory quietly die, however.... except I think I merged it with Velvet Goldmine at some point? AUGH. I'm not thinking about this anymore.)

Ah, sadly, by the time I started merging them the DBZ backstory had evolved so much it was fairly mundane and not recognizable as DBZ at all, and the VG bits were less glam and more grunge. I shouldn't have teased you like that, I'm so sorry. D:

If... if it makes you feel any better, I recycled my Velvet Goldmine OFC as the Mysterious Femme Fatale for my barely-disguised Star Wars novella? Only she had a gun instead of a guitar.

/continues to tease
