fic: Wherein the wife watches the in-laws play baseball (997 words, PG-13, Josa POV)

Feb 05, 2011 05:51

About six months ago, possibly_thrice prompted me for " anything about the Ex and Joanna and springtime." So I wrote her some happy-funtime-fluff fic, because The Ex is such a happy-funtime-fluff character. :)

NB: I am a cruel and filthy liar.

Additional warning: Political correctness is not something I was concerned with while writing this fic.

Josa POV, 997 words, PG-13 for language and existential angst )

don't love me i will only hurt you, st: ramble!verse, fic, imagine my maniacal laughter, fic: pg-13

I continue to adore your Josa. (The line about Leonard having 'no peripheral awareness' -- !!!)

No peripheral awareness-- yeah. :/ The worst part of this fictional relationship, I think, is writing both POVs and noticing all the blind spots....

I'm glad you still like her! She's-- not really pleasant. But in terms of my personal education and discovery, she's very important-- and parts of her I owe to you (but not in, like, a creepy "I fictionalize my friends" sort of way. Promise.)

It took me a few days to figure how to say this non-creepily-- after I had entertained certain ideas of Josa, but before I had allowed myself to develop those ideas more fully, there was an entry on your personal LJ (which I lurked after realizing you were quite handy with flock and filter, so public entries are guilt-free*) which sort of... granted me permission to Go There. So Josa's not modeled on you, but she shares aspects of her past with you: aspects which are more common than anyone likes to think. :/

*I am still being deliberately vague, as not everyone who lurks my journal knows your personal screenname.

P.S. idk if you saw this entry? It's basically an overview of the McCoy relationship.

I've reread this a bunch of times and just keep *beaming*. Thank you; I feel more like it's not... utterly ridiculous for me to write about myself. (And I appreciate your circumspection. I don't hide my two journals, but I don't usually flaunt them in each other either.)
