I ordered this book from Towers because they are just so cheap. I saved nearly forty percent off the cover price. My only problem is that is takes for every for my order to arrive, but it's here. Finally.
I'm currently reading Jim Butcher's Turncoat; I'm about twenty pages from the end. So here is my review. Beware SPOILERS AHEAD.
TURNCOAT IS CLEARLY A MIDDLE OF THE SERIES NOVEL. IF YOU'VE BEEN CONSISTENTLY READING THE BOOKS YOU KNOW WHAT I'M SAYING HERE. TURNCOAT IS AN ACTION NOVEL, THERE AREN'T ALOT A PERSONAL INSIGHTS OR IN DEPTH SOUL SEARCHING. NOPE THIS IS STRAIGHT ACTION. IF YOU BEGIN THE SERIES WITH THIS BOOK YOU'RE NOT GOING TO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOUR READING.
SO, NOW FOR THE SPOILERS, HARRY ONCE AGAIN SUPPORTS THE UNDERDOG. BIG SURPRISE THIS TIME IT'S MORGAN.
WHO FOR VARIOUS POLITICAL REASONS HAS BEEN FRAMED FOR MURDER. WHAT MAKES THIS INTERESTING IN THE CONTEXT OF THE NOVEL ARE MORGAN'S INTERACTIONS WITH MOLLY AND MOUSE. HE'S AN IMMOVEABLE HARDA** AND SHE'S A HOTHEADED NUROMANCER. THROW THEM TOGETHER AND WATCH THEM EXPLODE. WHAT MAKES THE BOOK, BESIDES FINALLY GETTING A FEW ANSWERS, IS THE DIALOGE WHICH AT TIMES HAD ME LAUGHING MY ASS OFF. JIM BUTCHER CAN REALLY WRITE A ONE LINER.
THOMAS IS IN A FEW CHAPTERS BUT OTHER THAN BEING KIDNAPPED DOESN'T PLAY A BIG ROLE, SO FOR HIS FANS THEY'LL JUST HAVE TO WAIT TILL THE NEXT NOVEL.
MOLLY HAS A LARGER ROLE IN THE DRAMA, BUT SEEMS TO BE DEVELOPING ANGER ISSUES.
MOUSE IS AWESOME, THERE IS NOTHING ELSE TO SAY ABOUT HIM.
HARRY. OH, POOR POOR HARRY, HIS BROTHER IS KIDNAPPED, HIS GIRLFRIEND'S MIND WAS JACKED SO SHE NEVER REALLY CARED FOR HIM, AND WHEN HE FINALLY GETS AN APOLOGY FROM MORGAN, THE OLD GUY DIES. SUCKS TO HARRY.
