It Must Be Nice
It must be nice to be able to sleep so peacefully;
Grief, worry, stress aside.
Legs spread and toes flat, fingers curled so gently.
It must be nice to sleep so peacefully.
So that not a care in the world, could remove you. From that not so distant world afar.
And it must be nice to wonder of sweetest thoughts and pearly evenings; to be settled in dreams.
For it must be nice to be able to sleep so peacefully;
That it hardly felt of sleep at all.
Sleeping Next to a Highway
Dark shadows crawl inside;
suddenly there are no windows,
there are no walls.
Sounds creep through the window cracks,
as if welcomed in.
Everything sounds a little louder,
a little filled with angst.
Trucks are angry,
Sprinklers are reporting for work.
An echo of a distant plane, cuts the silence.
An echo of a distant plane.
