Last time, Denise made a laughable suggestion to Juan about having another kid, Cheese was adorable and sleepy, Alicia sold lemonade, Helena kept sneaking out and there was a mother-daughter water balloon fight.

Denise lost her job due to making the wrong choice on a chance card and she was heartbroken. All her hard work climbing her way up to the military brass and she'd lost it all. Totally humiliating! Plus, she was so close to retirement and now she was looking at having no pension for her golden years.
Helena tried cheering her mom up with a game of red hands, which did perk Denise up a little and let her clear her mind to think about what her next move should be.
Helena was finding it easy to try to cheer someone else up because she had plenty to be cheerful about herself these days. A relationship had been heating up between her and one of her classmates, John Mackenzie.
Sparks are definitely flying! Could this legacy be heading for a second generation? (and wouldn't that make sense....)
Late summer made the family want to get in as much fun time outdoors as possible. This could only mean more water balloon fights, this time with Cassandra Flynn as Helena's unwitting victim.

Denise knew she needed to do something to secure a pension for herself and her family once she was at retirement age, which was fast approaching. So she accepted a job with the local police force, landing an above-entry level job due to her past military service. She quickly gained a couple promotions too!
Helena was falling hard for John, and invited him over to ask him a very serious question. She was nervous but also a bit excited.
"Will you go steady with me?"
He said yes!

Denise got home from work late one Saturday night to find her family waiting for her with a surprise birthday cake!
John showed Helena how serious he is about their relationship by making sure to be there for her mom's birthday!
The next day was Juan's birthday, so Denise decided to call up some friends and have a real party to celebrate both of their birthdays in style!
Well, apparently Juan didn't get the memo about "style" when he decided to drink the punch straight from the tap.
