Well, still no electricity. The transformer from the picture in the previous post is still laying where it fell and so are the power lines in the back of my apartment. And I live on a main street...
I received this email back from Paducah Power after trying out one of the email addresses from their website and asking if they had any kind of estimate...
I don’t have a good estimate. It could be a little while. We haven’t begun hanging many transformers yet. Our out of town crews that came in yesterday will enable us to start doing more of that. I know you’re hoping for a firm estimate, but it’s just impossible to pin it down because of the enormous amount of work being done. I would plan for at least a couple of more days without power, maybe more. I’m sorry I don’t have better news.
I was shocked I actually received an answer as quick as I did. I sent a thank you back to her and also said a general thanks to all the power workers who are putting in extra hours. At least the out of town crews have made it. I think there are several from the Gulf Coast that are returning the favor from Katrina.
*sigh*
Being displaced sucks. To top it off, I'm also displaced in the office at work because we were suppose to get new office furniture last week. So right now I have all my stuff set up in the conference room where I slept for two days... I'm just displaced all over the place...
