Two Haikus

Was at an open mic night at a local coffee shop last night and they did a haiku contest. Didn't win, but here's two I came up with...

A terrible life--
The animals crying out
In great ecstasy

Look out over seas--
The raging fire deep inside
Consumes our damned souls
