I'm not a member of the pregnant community...but I saw your post about playing brass...and I wanted to leave a comment there, but couldn't...so here it is. (hope you don't mind me posting here)
I'm 24 weeks and I'm playing in the University Band, and there haven't been any ill effects as of yet. So far the baby enjoys the music, and it isn't difficult for me to play. I'm playing second clarinet, and the music isn't terribly difficult. I am also still able to play trumpet, but I'm only at a beginner playing level on it.
I've read that you can go to rock concerts while pregnant, and it's not harmful to the baby. (in fact it was in my "your pregnancy week by week" book for this week). It's only harmful if you engage in "concert level" activities every day, and expose the baby to loud noises on a consistent basis.
Our band only practices one day a week for two and a half hours, and we'll only have one concert...so I am not concerned that playing in the band will be a problem for me.
