So yeah - I haven't posted here in ages. The fun thing about outreach in South Africa is that using the internet is costly and infrequent, and basically you only have enough time to write an email to your parents maybe.
But now we have returned to Closkelt for debrief and the internet here, while slow, is free and always available. :)
I feel like this isn't the time to describe in detail what all happened on outreach - never fear though, the stories will come.
I don't know how much you know about what has been going on in Northern Ireland at the moment - I am going to put a link here but I would really recommend reading up on it. This is really important stuff, actually. It can be easy to think of Northern Ireland and Ireland as just nice holiday locations for a DTS but really, this is a place that needs missionaries just as much as any other location - maybe even more.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/7933990.stm It was really interesting - a girl who used to staff the Closkelt YWAM base and now is staffing in Perth, Australia sent an email to the pastor of the church across the street here, Drumgooland Presbyterian. She said that last week she was in a prayer group and anther girl in that group said God was telling her to pray for Northern Ireland. She felt like something bad was going to happen and they all needed to pray for the safety of the people there. It turns out there was a 300 pound bomb found in Castlewellan (that's very near here) but it was defused before it went off... It is very cool that God is telling people in Perth to help take care of people here in Northern Ireland...
