I've had "normal" people IRL tell me that's too much work for a cup of coffee.
To which I will begin to respond: Do you know how much work goes into the coffee in your cup?
There's more than just scooping out Folgers and pushing a button. These farmers and their families go hungry most of the year after four months of backbreaking work for literally pennies on the dollar overall. What Nestle and Starbucks make as corporations could easily lift these people out of poverty. To take that weak pisswater -- or the overroasted drowned in sweetness half-caf grande soy caramel frappppppppppe(accent) some folks call coffee -- for granted is to do a tremendous disservice to what goes into the actual production of the agricultural product.
Nevermind the care that is taken by those who try to get the most out of roasting and brewing it.
Respect the bean. And donate, if you are so moved.
