This guy does. 1001 Books: You Must Read Before You Die....well frankly, I've read only a very, very few of those and most of them are things I have no inclination to, either. Maybe this means I'm a barbarian, but mostly I think it means that everyone has different taste.
I do have my own List, both for books and for movies. The List isn't written anywhere other than inside my own head. It is a very long list, filled with things that I believe will have quality. And The List keeps on growing. I'm pretty sure that I won't have gotten to everything on it before I die, even if it is the long way off that I hope it to be. Sometimes I get a little twinge of guilt when I admit that I have never read/seen X, but it doesn't last for more than a second. The world, it is big.
On that note, for someone who has never read Vonnegut (I know!) and would like to, how about some recommendations for where to start? (I'm thinking either Slaughterhouse Five or Cat's Cradle perhaps.)
