Happily Avoiding the Bug
My tummy hasn't been terribly happy, but that is due to the amount of sugar and caffeine I have ingested in a short period of time, rather than from the stomach bug that has hit various con-goers.
I've currently taken a brief run home during the dinner break, so as to drop off my daytime bag and change into my outfit for the Fancy Dress Party, the theme of which is fictional, fantastical schools.
It required a bit of thinking, as there are so many possible choices: Harper Hall, Miskatonic University, Battle School, etc. Hogwarts would have been super easy, since I've already gone as Hermione and have that nice black academic robe. However, it almost seemed too easy, and I imagine that there may well be quite a few "Hogwarts students" around tonight. After much consideration, I decided to go with Larwood House from DWJ's Witch Week. The book doesn't really describe the school uniforms or colors or anything, so I am at liberty to use my imagination. I'm going with the fact that the school is drab, dreary, and awful. I'm going to dig through my bin o'neckties to see if I can find one that works for a school tie. *Maybe* I'll post a picture, but I'm not promising anything.
