Guess what I did last weekend! Go ahead, guess.
No, not that. But golly do I wish that were it!
No, not that either.
Well, technically my father and my sister painted, because they are painting machines! They seriously amazed me. I'd blink and bam! That wall was done. I managed to wrestle a roller away from them so I got to do some of the work, too.
My father was awesome. I've got vaulted ceilings and an intense fear of ladders - not a great combo, there. He brought over a ladder and did the edging along the ceiling, then handed over an extension poll for the roller. That I can handle! I can even do standing on a step stool. As long as nobody breathes on me or talks so I don't break my concentration and fall two feet to my death. Because that could totally happen!
We got so much done in one day. Living room, the sorta hall thing that leads to the bedroom, and half the dining room. I can tell that I'm going to have to do a second coat - the paint is tricky - but it looks amazing. The walls before were neglected white - dusty and dirty. Now they are this great warm browny-taupe and I love it. This place is finally starting to look like it's mine and I'm all kids of excited. It makes me want to run out and buy paint for the bedroom and the bathroom right now. And then I'll paint the cabinets! Paint paint paint!
So…what are y'all doing this weekend? Because there are touch ups, and then on to the kitchen and dining room!
