Laura and Eliza were sick of living under their parents roof, and this was an opportunity to get away and get some free housing, so they snatched up a spot as soon as they saw the ad. As for Fritz, he was one of their close friends, and he didn't have much else going on, so why not? Well, that and uh, he got into a big of a hairy situation in the old town, so he kind of had to leave.
