An Update

This semester I am taking only graduate classes (12 hours); I decided against taking the second semester of organic chemistry. I wasn't sure that I'd be able to use it for a second accreditation, and it will let me only take one class over the summer and so save me money. I may revisit the orgo at a later date, but we will see.

I've realized that having all that time away from school is a wonderful thing. My classes are filled with people who are seniors or first year grad students. And they are burned out and bored with school, and well, I'm not. I also find my teachers fascinating, and I know that others in my classes don't. I have an instructor who is a third year PhD student and she's old. I mean really old mid to late 60's or so. And I think that's amazing! I have another teacher who had been an architect for five years before going back to school and becoming a cognitive psychologist. And I find it all amazingly inspiring. I've been struggling with the feeling that it's too late for me to try to start something new. And these teachers are giving me the conviction I need that I can do this and it's not a stupid thing to do.

And other than that I have little else to add. Well except that Cinder (my brother's dog) is bugging Hermes again. I keep seeing her licking and occasionally biting the cat's ear. Of course Hermes seems less annoyed than I'd be if someone was following me around constantly licking my ears. But who am I to judge.
