I need to use up some pumpkin that's been in the fridge awhile. I also made some rice with the leftover chicken stock from the chinese chicken I made yesterday. So this week's menu will be fairly uninspired.
Monday - fried rice
Tuesday - lamb pot roast with carrots, broccoli, baked (or mashed - haven't decided) potato and pumpkin
Wednesday - leftover pot roast
Thursday - fried rice
Friday - I'm leaning towards steamed barramundi, but to be confirmed
Saturday - pasta puttanesca
Sunday - chinese spare ribs and choy sum with rice
I'm trying to include at least one fish dish a week. I used to never make fish because I was too intimidated, but I bought a cheap bamboo steamer from the Asian grocer so now it's dead easy. The first time I used the steamer James and I kept a close watch to make sure the heat of the wok didn't make the bamboo burst into flames. But now I'm pretty confident about using it!
