SUCH AN AMAZING MOVIE. Also, one of my favorite Yuletide stories of all time was in that fandom a few years back. Hmmm. Now I need to go hunt it down again...

I'm not your Yuletide writer either but I just wanted to say: Mairleon the Magician! I read the two books for the first time this year. I don't think they're Wrede's best novels but I adore Renee to bits. She's fashionable, smart, and has the ability to tell people when they're being idiots without hesitating.

I LOVED the Mairelon books when I was younger -- they're right up there with Tamora Pierce's Tortall series and Wrede's Enchanted Forest Chronicles on my list of Formative YA Literature. Alternate history! Girls crossdressing! Magic! RENEE D'AUBER, oh my god, I had a girl!crush on her before I even knew what that meant. ♥_♥
