So I spent the past two evenings rewatching the first two X-Men movies, which I haven't actually sat down and watched in years. Now, of course, I'm seeing everything through the lens of First Class. And doing my best to ignore the continuity errors, because First Class is in many ways more of a reboot than a proper prequel. Still. I can actually ( Read more... )

I'm so tempted to ask you to marry me I can't even- D:

Mystique is bamf, I honestly love Erik's blunt honestly as well, and that scene in the third one where he moves the bridge. Moves the bridge. The whole bridge. Forever ingrained into my brain.

Have to say, I'm not a fan of X3, but it is kind of amazing how he's just like, okay, I'm gonna move the entire Golden Gate Bridge now. BECAUSE I CAN. :D

THEY MAKE SO MANY POOR CHOICES. And yet it's always so completely understandable WHY they make poor choices -- actual character flaws rather than sloppy writing. I love them all so much.

...really? X1 and X2 are both perfectly solid comic book movies -- decent writing and acting all around, easily as good as any of the Avengers movies. I don't know why anyone told you they were awful, they're quite entertaining! (X3, on the other hand, is genuinely terrible. Skip it.)
