finally caught up on sherlock

See, there really ought to be a proper post about the BBC's Sherlock here, now that I've had time to watch the remaining 2/3 of the miniseries. But there's not, because I am now STUCK ON FLAIL and coherence is no longer possible.

THIS IS MY SHERLOCK HOLMES, GUYS.

And, I never thought it, but that's my Moriarty now, too. Definitely nothing like I ever would have envisioned him, but that pseudo-petulant genius schoolboy thing really, really worked for me. And genuinely surprised me.

I'm also stuck on HEY I KNOW THAT GUY for this show, like most BBC productions. The DI from part 2 was the ill-fated Eugene of Torchwood's "Random Shoes", and Joe from part 3 (who accidentally killed his sister's fiancee for the memory stick) was Alton More from Band of Brothers, who stole Hitler's photo album. Heh.

The massive slash quotient for Holmes/Watson continues to be THROUGH THE DAMN ROOF. But this surprises no one. Oh, that pool scene. I kind of expected John to be the last one abducted, but it still worked SO well. And Sherlock losing his shit once Moriarty left and ripping the bomb off John and clearly verging on a fucking nervous breakdown of having almost killed the one non-family person he cares about...um, yes, that pinged me very hard. OH BOYS. (John's quiet little I-need-to-sit-down-and-hyperventilate-for-a-moment-now was very nicely played, too. But we all know how much I love Martin Freeman already, right?)

In conclusion: MORE NOW PLEASE. Please?
