Responses to the personal canon character meme...

Greg House
1. Is not, in fact, secretly warm and fuzzy deep deep down inside, and really wishes he could attract women who aren't trying to unlock his inner teddy bear. It just isn't there, and while the sex might be great, dealing with the crying and hurt feelings and all that crap once they figure him out really isn't worth the hassle. But then again, the sex might be great, and if Cameron were show up on his doorstep wearing a long trenchcoat and nothing else...well, a man can dream.
2. Back in his more athletic and pain-free years, House had staunchly believed that when it came to sex, he had to try everything at least once (and possibly a few more times to be sure). After all, how can one know one's sexual kinks and preferences unless one experiences the full gamut? He's far less experimental these days, partly because of the leg and lack of opportunities, but mainly because he's figured himself out pretty well by now. For example, he likes breasts a whole lot, but he's willing to make exceptions. Pretty is a must. Female, though preferable, is optional.
3. Is capable of thinking of things other than sex, which is really more than he feels can be assumed for any other guy in his acquaintance. Wilson, for example, is probably mentally undressing you right now. But when pressed, House actually finds a good puzzle more interesting than all but the most fantastic forms of sex. Of course, most puzzles aren't nearly that tricky for him, so he has plenty of time for the sex thoughts, too.

James Wilson
1. Is far more manipulative than anyone, including House, gives him credit for. He can talk (or touch, or insinuate) his way into and out of just about anything. He genuinely means to use his powers for good, not evil, but he's well aware that the road to Hell is paved with good intentions, so he tries to hold off unless he thinks he really has to. Tries being the operative word there. A big part of the reason he likes House is because House (usually) sees right through his bullshit.
2. Is, much to his own dismay, a romantic at heart. He's in love with being in love more than anything else. He knows that there is a more grown-up, lasting sort of in-love, and he suspects he's already fallen into it, but he's terrified of confronting it because that's the one situation he doesn't have the faintest idea how to manipulate.
3. When he closes his eyes, Wilson can no longer clearly picture what his brother looked like the last time he saw him. He wonders how many other details he'll forget over the years. He wonders how long it will take before the other people in his life forget him, after he's gone. Not long, he imagines. He tries not to think about it.

Lisa Cuddy
1. Cuddy hired House for reasons that had exactly nothing to do with their one-night stand and everything to do with his talent as a diagnostician, regardless of what jackasses like Vogler or Tritter might believe. And she takes his shit for exactly the same reasons. But she knows if anyone else ever finds out about that fling -- back while she was in college, she might well add to emphasize its complete irrelevance -- they won't believe her. She loves being a woman, but she absolutely despises the repercussions of being a member of the "weaker" sex on her professional life.
2. She sometimes wonders what her life would be like if she hadn't made her career her top priority. She might be married by now, have kids, be happy. She wonders whether the sacrifice would have been worth it. Probably not.
3. In retrospect, Cuddy thinks Stacy made the wrong call during House's infarction. She thinks they just should've cut the damn leg off, and to hell with the consequences. The compromise didn't save Stacy and House's relationship, and honestly, while House would probably be just as much of a jackass as an amputee -- possibly more of one, since he'd actively hate Cuddy rather than just casually disrespect her -- he wouldn't be on the damn Vicodin, which means he wouldn't be cutting more years off his lifespan with every pill, and he'd save a lot more lives in that extra now-lost time. And if that seems a bit mercenary of her, so be it. She can live with that. She can't change the past, anyway.

Remus Lupin
1. Remus never told Sirius he loved him. Neither of them were big on the whole sharing-of-feelings thing, and actions speak louder than words, and all that. After Sirius was sent to Azkaban, Remus was very, very glad he'd never said it. Let the bastard rot in misery.
2. Much, much later, after the truth came out, Remus regretted this. A lot. But he never talked about it. Sirius already had to bear the weight of thousands of his own missed chances and regrets; there was no reason to burden him further with Remus's.
3. Remus will never tell anyone about how he spent the first three or four years after James and Lily died. He remembers every second of that time in perfect detail, and wishes he didn't. He has considered Obliviating himself several times, in fact, but always decides against it in the end. The memories seem like deserving punishment, somehow. Punishment for what, he's not entirely sure, but he knows he deserves it. Oddly enough, he's never thought of being a werewolf as punishment in any way. It's just a fact of life.

Peter Pettigrew
1. Peter's a lot cleverer than anyone -- including his so-called friends -- ever gave him credit for. Not that he was anywhere near as brilliant as Sirius or James (and who was, really?), but he's not a complete idiot, and a good chunk of his resentment towards them came from being treated as though he was. But he showed them in the end, didn't he?
2. He never agreed with Voldemort's cause -- not back in the first war, and not now. But during the first war, siding with Voldemort looked like Peter's best chance for survival, so he did what he thought he had to. These days, Voldemort's even more batshit insane than before, but Peter's survival is also even more dependent upon Voldemort's. He has nowhere else to go.
3. Voldemort thinks Peter's a complete idiot, too. Peter resents his master just as much, if not more, than he ever resented Sirius or James. And one day, he'll show Voldemort just how clever he really is. Just like he showed Sirius and James. Just wait.

This is kinda fun. Any more requests?
