(no subject)
robert always says that people that work in the restaurant business are shady individuals, and I wasn't sure if I believed him until yesterday. a normal looking guy (albeit on the burlier side) came up to the hostess stand and asked to speak to a manager, so I got my manager Jim, and by the time I got back, one of our best servers Billy was talking to the burly guy. The conversation was kind of a blur, but it went something along the lines of:
Burly Man (BM): Nice to meet you, Jim. I've got a warrant for Billy's arrest... now we don't need to handcuff him in here or anything...
Jim: Oh, well, yeah I'd rather that you didn't cause a scene. Would you rather leave out the back entrance?
BM: Nah, Billy says he'll come quietly.
Billy: His car is parked out front.
Jim: Alright then.
[exit Billy and Burly Man, casually]
Jim: Well I guess we'll get Aaryn to cover his tables...
Kelly (me): Um, wait, did Billy just get arrested?
Jim: Shh.
Kelly: Oh, okay.
Jim: Though I do wonder what that's all about.
Kelly: Yeah.
So one of our servers got arrested! Right in the restaurant. How bizarre, how bizarre.
Burly Man (BM): Nice to meet you, Jim. I've got a warrant for Billy's arrest... now we don't need to handcuff him in here or anything...
