It was done. All my chores and homework; completed. I took out the garbage for mom, I mowed the grass for dad, I even ironed out my sister's dress shirt for her next job interview. They wouldn't expect this, but I've planned it for so long already, I'd be chicken not to pull it off.
So I stand on the edge; the wind whipping the hair into my eyes. But I can't hear it. It's deathly silent. I gaze at the stars, the clouds, and the pale, pale moon. My, aren't they shining so bright. I stare at it's light; I can't move. My legs have frozen in their place; never coming out of rest. But I've decided, and my resolve won't waver. Not like your's did.
I push my legs; jump. And fall. My body flips and turns violently and the air blows past my ears, shrieking at those who can't hear. Wait, fuck, the change from my pocket slipped out. It's not too far, so it should land around the same place as I do. Someone lucky might earn a buck.
'That's what I am to you, right? Just petty change in your back pocket.'
The ground's coming up pretty close; aw hell, people are going to hate me. My hand goes to my neck and feels at the ring strung there on a frail silver link chain.
'You'll miss me right?'
The ground catches me; impact. My thought mingles during the last second of my life.
'How could you? After everything?'
