Summer will be here before we know it

First of all, happy, HAPPY birthday to one of the best roommates and most fabulous people I know, akarui_sekai! I hope you're having a fantastic day! (I had to hit all venues. *g*)

It turns out the first quote seems to (THANKFULLY) have been way out in left field, because I got two more that were within $300 of each other and half to almost a third (depending on whether I upgraded) the price of the first guy.

Of course, when the lower estimates came in, I said to Steve, We could use that money to replace the ugly floors and countertops in the bathroom! Which is so NOT the point! I don't have extra money I didn't have before; I'm just potentially spending a few thousand dollars less than I thought I might, but I am still spending several thousand dollars I wish I didn't have to. Haha. Oh, brain!

I'd like to send one more "thank you" out to Mother Nature for handing us below-normal temperatures these past few weeks, and also to The Powers that Be for letting my AC break when it's not 100+ degrees outside. Although, I would like to note that not having it break at all would have been better.

I've been catching up on season finales, and so far I have been enjoying them all! And I can't wait for the next seasons to start! Hawaii Five-O, Big Bang Theory, Supernatural, How I Met Your Mother, Chuck, Smallville... ALL GOOD. This morning, we watched Castle, and OMG! I thought I was going to hate the finale because I really hate the UST between Beckett and Castle. Actually, I oftentimes just dislike Beckett for her constant insistence on being involved in cases she is too close to. She's unprofessional. And I feel like this "thing" between her and Castle is all contrived and too obvious and... bah. Anyway. I was expecting the finale to be another romantic tease and blah blah blah, but it WASN'T! I could ignore Beckett's involvement in her mother's case again because this time it was done well. And now I can't wait for next season!

I am also happy for summer hiatus because I don't feel pressured to keep up with things that people will talk about, or to clear things off the DVR before it gets too full. TV is much more relaxing in the summer. We have Walking Dead and the most recent season of Dexter, and a friend lent me season one of House about a year ago that I'm looking forward to finally getting to. Any other shows I should add to my list?

On a totally different topic, I had a revelation. Through this weight loss journey, while I've stepped down three or four pants sizes, I hadn't gotten myself any new bras. My boobs really haven't gotten that much smaller, so I was just putting it off because I HATE bra shopping. Well, I bought two new bras yesterday, and HOLY COW does it make a difference to have my boobs back where they're supposed to be!

It's been super overcast all morning, but the sun is finally starting to make a little headway. Now I'm a bit more motivated to leave the house and run some errands.

birthdays, tv, home sweet home
