My coworker and I often compare reading material. Lately, I've been reading fanfic almost exclusively, so I haven't had any books to talk about with her. Our tastes don't overlap ALL that much, so I didn't really think twice about giving her a loose plot summary of
this story (which I am reading for the first time on
adelate's ringing endorsement) this afternoon.
My coworker? Demanded to know the title and author--neither of which I knew off the top of my head anyway, but I had implied it was a BOOK, and besides, I am not about to out myself as a fanfic reader, NO WAY NO HOW. How was I supposed to know the story would sound interesting to her? She voted yes on 8! Oy. Now I wait and hope she forgets about it. Ha.
Oo, guests are on their way over for dinner, so I better set to making that trifle! (Yes, KC, I'm making the exact same meal I made when you were here. *g*) The rest of the meal is pretty quick prep, especially since I already marinated the chicken, so I can probably throw it all in a few minutes before they're due to arrive.
Cooking. Who knew?
