I live. I've just been lazy with regards to my blogging, though I've been tweeting up a storm. Sometimes it's easier to spit out small 140 character brain farts than compose a coherent and hopefully interesting journal post. But you are limited in what you can say unless you wish to be one of those "Twitter essayists"; you know, the people who have long strings of "cont'd" tweets. I try to avoid those.
The situation in Thailand still depresses me. But there's nothing I can do. The UN and US really don't give a rat's ass, in my opinion. Oh, they'll shake their fingers and say, "tsk tsk," but in the end the Thai government will do whatever they like while the US is busy focusing on the middle east.
Enough serious business. In cheerier news,
"Pavlov's Dream" is still going, and I encourage you to check out the latest updates.
In other art news,
headlesspuppet and I did a short -- well, mostly her since drawing was 80% of the work; I was more adviser in this. -- three pager. You can find it
here. It may be out of place among the crass dialogue, random sex (har har beewbies r so funi), zombies, and "OMG it's EARTH!" or "OMG it's ALIENS!" stories, but maybe it'll stand out in a good way because of it. One thing that really irks me, though, is the number of people who do not read the submission instructions. The OP clearly stated they want two or three page self contained stories. "I don't want to see general art samples [...] all new guys will have a year on short stories before graduating to anything bigger. You need to learn your way around a short before you get your hands on a feature." And yet people still post pages from their long ongoing webcomic or series or graphic novel idea. If it were me, I'd disqualify those people for failing to follow directions.
I'm a bum who has been spending too much time playing Aion, but I think for once in an MMO (not counting Guild Wars) I might actually hit the level cap! :3
